The Philosophy: The Desert of the Real<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-five years ago, I abandoned the overbearing tyranny of coastal Southern California for the rugged solitude of the Sonoran Desert. Today, I am executing a similar withdrawal from the mainstream social media scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Desert of the Real\u201d\u2014a concept borrowed from Baudrillard\u2014perfectly encapsulates our current malaise. We are trapped in a state of managed perception; the media, the academy, and the administrative state operate in a recursive loop of synthetic narratives designed to ensure we remain distracted while our civilization erodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
